What makes your flowers unique?
I think the special thing about these flowers, until the season is through, is that they’re very pure and natural*. They’re grown outside, and they’re organic. Most other flowers are grown with a lot of chemicals.
Where do you get the flowers from?
The flowers I work with the most are organic. Otherwise I source my flowers from growers who are nearby, not from Africa. At this time, sunflowers are growing in Holland, so you will see a lot of those.
What else does Vlinder & Vogel sell besides flowers?
I also have products in my store that are inspired by flowers. The small vases on clothespins are also from me, for the flowers that get taken from a big bouquet.
Where’s the best place in Amsterdam to see flowers?
A lot of Amsterdammers have a little garden by the house; these are stimulated by the municipality of Amsterdam. You can also try the Hortus Botanicus. When you start to look, you will see flowers everywhere. A new world will open up to you.
